Hi, I'm Kristen of Iris in Bloom. I'll be posting various things here, from stories about my life to deals for my business, or even just tips to get the most out of your photos! Come enjoy my completely normal, not even a little weird self!


I grew up in a highly competitive household! My older sister was perfect at everything, so I worked very hard at everything. Art, unfortunately, was a passion we shared. She went into computer animation, and I dove into video and video editing. As I worked through video, graphics, photography, and Photoshop, I realized I found a passion for the perfect picture along with the perfect recording of love in action for the people in my life!

I live in Katy with a nutty spouse and three cats. Together we raise and homeschool two completely out-of-their-minds kids; our son is age 8 and our daughter is 4.

I also love singing and have competed in a quartet, playing Dance Dance Revolution, and rock climbing! And thinking I can garden someday... ... ...

With everything, I try to juggle (oh, and I like to juggle too!), I know how fast time can pass you by. The worst thing was when I missed a year of getting pictures of my own children. I will never get that back!

The best thing though, was when I finally put my children's baby photos from a hard drive into frames on the wall. There was no point in having digital files, but when I put them up to see (and fortunately didn't have the hard drive fail like some do before I got around to it), my late talking children had so much to say. They loved their baby pictures but also even pictures of just mommy and daddy in love. Each moment in time is precious and irreplaceable, and it's there to remind everyone how important each of us is and how much we love each other. I want to give this gift to everyone because love really is the most amazing thing in this world.
